Black Girl Bloom exhibits the FREEDOM of telling our own stories.

Encore Black Girl Bloom Performance:

The Journey to Celebration

Friday, June 6th, 7pm (Mentee Night)

Saturday, June 7th, 7pm

Sunday, June 8th, 3pm

The Chrysalis: Monarch Center for the Arts | 1805 Main St, SD, CA 92113

Created, directed, and choreographed by Keomi Tarver, this live, multi-sensory performance weaves dance, film, and poetry into one woman’s return to herself — an offering of presence, softness, truth, and power.
At the center is Keomi — artist, healer, movement storyteller — whose journey takes root in every moment on stage. But she does not bloom alone.

She is joined by a radiant ensemble of Black women performers — each bringing her own body, story, and spirit.
Together, they don’t just perform.
They testify.
They remember.
They remind.

Whether you come for the dance, the poetry, the story, or the stillness —
you will leave changed.

Three nights. Three invitations. One truth: You need to be in the room.
LIVE performance: Early Bird Sale $25; General Admission $30;

Black Girl Bloom Offerings

Black Girl Bloom, led by Keomi Tarver, is a powerful and transformative movement that amplifies the voices and experiences of Black girls. By focusing on the beauty, glow, and complexities of the Black-girl-experience, it provides a platform for them to share their stories, struggles, and triumphs while navigating their own personal journeys of growth.
